Announcement and Call for Abstracts
 
The deadline for submitting abstracts is February 15th 2016
 
The scientific committee of the Emirates International Conference on Men’s Health has issued a call for abstracts for its Men’s Health Conference on 14th and 15th of April 2016 being held in Rosewood Hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE. This conference aims to heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourages early detection, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases among men.
 
The conference will present an outstanding program featuring a variety of topics addressing Men’s Health related issues of various risk groups that are responsible for the present morbidity and reduced life span 
The main objectives for the Men’s Health Conference are to: 
 
  • Play a leadership role in the prevention and treatment of men’s health issues
  • Review current state-of-the-art advances in managing particular group of diseases related to Men’s Health
  • Develop an effective strategy for diagnosis and management of men’s health issues 
  • Discuss issues that result in men's health disparities
  • Recognize barriers to effective diagnosis, treatment, and management of common men’s health issues
  • Recognize the importance of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches to managing men’s health issues (e.g., exercise,   diet, smoking cessation etc.)
  • Discuss clinical practice of real life case studies
  • Provide insight into patient needs and experiences and improve clinical practice
The committee invites speakers to submit abstracts for presentations on the theme of the conference “Improving Men’s Health” Program Themes Includes HIM’s interfacing with healthcare in the healthcare entities:
 
  • Diet and Life Style (Nutrition, Exercise & Fitness, Healthy Eating, Anabolic Abuse and body building, Obesity)
  • Stress Aspects (Anxiety, Depression, Sleep Disorders, Anger management, Occupational hazards peculiar to men)
  • Cardio-Vascular health (Hypertension, Atherosclerosis, Hyperlipidemia, Diabetes Mellitus, Metabolic syndrome, Stroke, CAD)
  • Prostate health / Sexual Health / Fertility
  • High risk behavior (Smoking, Alcohol abuse, Narcotic abuse and addiction, Reckless driving)
  • Occupational Health, risks and hazards at home, work and on the road
  • Malignancy in Men (Prostate Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Testicular Cancer, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Gastric Cancer, Lung Cancer, Skin Cancer)
  • Health Conditions in Aging Men (Alopecia, Alzheimer, Dementia, Osteoporosis, Arthritis)
  • Oral Health
  • Miscellaneous and any other relevant topics related to the conference theme
Presentations will be selected based on: relevance, best practices, case studies and completeness of the required information submitted. Participants want real life examples of what works and practical take-away tools/solutions.

Abstract Guidelines:
All abstracts submitted for presentations (by the 15th of February, 2016) will be assessed and prospective speakers will be notified about the results by 17th of February, 2016.
 
Speakers are advised to keep the following guidelines in mind when planning both the abstracts and presentations:
Abstracts must contain original scientific data collected by the author(s). All reports must be based on work that has already been completed. No studies "in progress" will be accepted. The abstracts will be scored on the following criteria:
  • Originality 
  • Concept and design 
  • Presentation 
  • Applicability 
  • Other characteristics 
Language: All abstracts are to be written in English. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts for grammar and clarity.
 
Submission: All abstracts must be submitted via the Abstract Form which can be accessed at www.menaconf.com this should be limited to a maximum of 250 words and should include the following:
 
Title of abstract 
Names and contact details of author(s) {organization, city /country, email, phone numbers, fax numbers and mailing address}. Please indicate the name of the presenter/ clearly and provide the author’s biography with the abstract. 
The abstract must include the following headings clearly: Purpose, Methods, Results and Conclusions. 
 
Abstract submission will be acknowledged via email. If you do not receive an email within one week of submission or have any additional queries please contact email Zandra Gonzales via: zandra@menaconf.com 
 
Important dates
  • 15th February, 2016 – Deadline for submission of abstracts. 
  • 17th February, 2016 – Presenters will be notified of acceptance. 
Important Information 
  • All abstracts must be prepared using the abstract submission guidelines. 
  • Each presenter may submit a maximum of two abstracts. 
  • Each abstract submission must indicate if the material was published or presented in any prior Congress or if it received any awards 
  • All presenters will be registered to attend the Conference if abstract is accepted and be present at the time of the Congress. 
  • A certificate of appreciation will be given to all the presenters to honor their presentation. 
  • Presenters must not use the session as a marketing opportunity for products/equipment 
  • Travel, accommodation and visa process will be provided to accepted abstracts
