AL UMNIA MEDICAL was founded in 2009 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates to serve a dynamic and thriving healthcare sector in the Middle East region. The company’s name is originally Arabic and it means “hope”. The idea is to contribute towards the development of the region’s medical sector, helping healthcare providers meet the hopes of recovery and well being of every patient in need. GulfDrug was established in 1969 initially starting as a pharmaceutical importer then branching into other medical categories in Dubai and has since then progressed side by side with the development, growth and maturity of the various health institutions in the UAE. Cook Medical was founded in 1965 in Bloomington, Indiana and currently has more than 12,000 employees globally. It's first products were wire guides, needles and catheters. Cook Medical is now manufacturing products to 41 medical specialties.
